Quote for the day
So...the other night when I went to massage one of my regular clients at his home I heard a quote worth blogging about. I think. I always make small conversation with my clients wife as she is in and out of the living room where I am massaging; she's doing laundry, putting it away, cleaning, etc.. She asked me how my beagle Maisy was doing and I told her Maisy was fine, and we sometimes think about getting her a friend so she won't be so lonely during the day. I mentioned that our neighbor told us about a beagle that was up for adoption and asked if we were interested. As I am telling my client's wife this...I mention that my only concern was that the beagle who is up for adoption was a boy and I wondered if it would be a problem seeing as Maisy is a girl. Her response, "If it has a penis and no job....you don't want it". Ahhhh....wisdom from elders.

FRIENDS ARE SO GREAT
We had the pleasure of having a couple of the Cross boys come and visit us for a couple days last week. Jeffrey and Colby have been best friends since birth and it warms my heart like nothing else to see that no matter the distance between them....they pick right back up where they left off. They laugh hysterically together and no matter what they are doing ....they always have so much fun. Ellie and Casey have also been close since birth and Ellie talks about him everyday and misses him so much since he moved away a few years ago. Anyway...these boys were such an absolute joy to have. They have such good manners, they are respectful and funny...and we were blessed to have them.

Jeffrey and I call this Colby's ab picture...oh my gosh! A six pack on a ten year old!?

such good buddies

YO ADRIENNE!!
So whilst attempting multitasking the other night I decided that I should not be a multitasker. I was on the phone with my son (shoulder holding phone to my ear) and opening a bottle of wine with my hands. I screwed the opener down into the cork....pulled the arms of the opener down to pop the cork up.... and started to wedge the cork out. As my luck would have it the cork was sticking a bit...so I used the amazing muscle that I have in my hands and pulled very hard (one hand on bottle...one hand on wine opener) and the opener went with intense force into my eye. I don't cry when I get hurt like this...I am more angry and silent. I put my head down onto my arm onto the counter and took some deep breaths as my eyeball throbbed and moistened. When I pulled my head off of my arm I saw blood on my arm. I panicked thinking it was my actual eyeball that was bleeding and went quickly to the bathroom to see the damage. Luckily it was not my eyeball...but my eyelid that was dripping (uncontrollably) blood down my face. Next came the swelling....and so on. On a more evil note... I have been able to get a few extra jobs out of my husband in the past couple days when I say, "well... when people ask what happened to my eye I hope I am able to tell them the truth...and not say that my husband couldn't control himself and I must have really made him angry this time". ................................is that wrong?

RUN FORREST!!!
I have decided to go back to running. I ran my first half marathon in San Diego last July. Completely embarrassed by my time I have resorted to say that my only goal was to finish. For those of you who don't know...I quit my job at Massage Envy and had my first week doing only outcall massage this week. I already feel so much of the stress off of my shoulders. I wasn't giving any time to myself ....no time to praying, no time to exercising, no time to keeping up my house. I was going to work....coming home...getting the kids homework done, dinner started, and out the door to massage my personal clients. It was just too much. I love what I do and have been very fortunate to have enough personal clients right now. So....for all those who know and love me and want to encourage and hold me accountable...I am revisiting the pavement to get myself back into shape. I am still going to say that the time it takes to run a few miles still isn't as important as the fact that I am getting my butt out there and doing it. I may be as slow as it gets....but watch out Gump! Here I come!

The Setting:
I just get home from massaging all day, I'm standing in the kitchen talking to my husband who also worked all day and is in the living room on the couch...
Me: Hey...how about we go out to dinner?
Molly (who was not the one I was talking to): OKAY!!!! Ellie and I will go get ready!! (she and Ellie run down the hallway to their room to "get ready")
Michael: Where do you want to go? We could go to sushi...but the kids wouldn't like that ...maybe chilis....or outback?
five minutes go by....
Ellie and Molly come out wearing dresses, heels and lots of makeup ...

Michael: maybe we should get take out.
