Love is in the air...
My kids are officially on track break. Yesterday they kicked off the the two week break with their Valentine's day parties in their classrooms. There was laughter, creativity, and mass amounts of sugar. Valentine's day is, as my mother would say, "a hallmark holiday" . There is so much hype over exchanging valentines, buying chocolate, and then attaching the word "love" to all of it. It did, however get me thinking about the word love and what it means to me. The handful of people that I have true love for are so crucial to my life. True love for me means that I can be completely vulnerable, and that I have exchanged seeing these people at their worst...and them seeing me at my worst. These people love me enough to tell me hard truth when I need it, pray for me when I am in a pit, and remind me of others' good qualities instead of the flaws that can be so apparent sometimes. Love is amazing. Love is difficult. Love can make you laugh, cry, scream, and EVERYTHING in between. I am now (re)starting the book: The Love Dare, from the movie Fireproof. My friend Shontell proposed the dare and I accepted. 'Love is built on two pillars that best define what it is. Those pillars are patience and kindness. All other characteristics of love are extensions of these two attributes.' (a quote from The Love Dare).
I want to love my husband on purpose, not based on my emotions or circumstances. I am so truly blessed to have that man...I want to make sure I am doing everything in my power to make him thankful that he married me.
To end the "love blog post" I am announcing to anyone that hasn't heard: MY SISTER MO IS ENGAGED!!! Yay to Matt for tapping in to his romantic side to make it happen!

Jeffrey at the fifth grade V day party...lots of laughs

Molly's class was having a little too much fun...so her teacher made them freeze and put their hands on their heads.

Ellie wanted to have her picture taken with EVERY one of her classmates...here are just a couple of the cuties.

It's OFFICIAL!!! Matt gave Mo a ring that belonged to his grandmother. So precious!
