Today was the second day ever that Jeffrey and Molly were allowed to ride their bikes to school. We went and bought them bike locks the other day and they just couldn't wait! Their school is about 3 min away when I drive them...and it's one street the entire way to get there. Still....I was nervous and wanted to secretly follow them, my brother Paddy even suggested I do a video documentary of it...me peering around corners...whispering...watching their every move. I know. I am pathetic. Life is just so much different than when I was little and I have very normal and reasonable worries. I figure a couple things on the subject....first, it is starting to get hot already and they won't want to ride to school for very much longer. Second, by the time Ellie starts kindergarten at their school, which is just around the corner, there is no way she will ride so I think we may get back to our drives together. I haven't really had too many sad moments about how big my kids are getting,... but I kind of had one today. I love being able to take them to school in the mornings. We've been pals with the crossing guard Bob (an older, round sort of Santa type minus the beard) for a couple years now and his face always lights up when he sees our car coming and the kids roll down their windows to say hi to him to which he always replies, "Good morning Harrison's! How's everybody doing this morning"? It does make me feel better that the kids have him there to cross them across the big street that I would normally be worried about them crossing. Anyway after the kiddos left this morning, I watched Ellie walking around in her very sassy shoes that Wendi bought for her. She likes them because they are her size, they are heels and they click wherever she goes. However, when my friend Jessica saw them this morning she thought they may be miniature hooker heels. hmmmmm. Ellie bellie and I had a good start to our day making eggs and waffles (she's such a good cook!) Friday's are usually titled "coffee and massage Friday's" over here. They used to include Melissa, Jessica and me having coffee and watching FRIENDS or OFFICE reruns and me giving my friends massages. It's really great. Now that Melissa isn't here, it's just me and Jess, and we have added letter writing to Melissa to the agenda. Still great. But this is the second Friday in a row that I take time to slow down and love my life. I love that I have time to stop, breathe, and reflect.
getting ready to head off to school!
There they go! (this is when i start to pray)
These shoes really do fit Ellie's personality
'click click click' "see mom! i look so cute"
yum!
I let her crack 5 eggs into the bowl...then she said, "how about 6" i agreed. then she said, "how about 7" sigh.

I love coffee & massage fridays. I am thankful for you :)
whatever. say this last word in a pouty three year old sort of grumble. I am sort of happy for you guys. We have also added snail mail writing to our list of ways to K.I.T. 4evah. I am such an O.G. Maybe you could send me a letter and slip in your copies of The Office? Mel says if you don't ask you will never know. lol. My kids loved the pictures.
hee hee...i love coffee & massage fridays, too. i mean, i loved when i could actually be there in person, but i love that i have that day each week as my letter writing day, and i love that you are thinking of me too! and shontellie, i love you too!
whoa, that's gotta be scary sending those bike riders into the wild streets on their own. i would be trailing in an all-black or maybe urban-camo outfit, swinging from trees and jumping from car-hood to car-hood watching their every step.
and my charter email is working...just tesed it. maybe you need to switch it up to my brian (at) egancommercial (dot) com address??
I miss my kids. I miss Bob... we became good friends when I drove the kids to school. Ellie's shoes ROCK... she can wear them- she is a princess. Give them HUGE hugs for me! LOVE YOU!!
Jess, do you want Wendi to get you some "hooker heels" too? Ellie and I are a lot alike- and we have very similar shoe styles... too cute!!!
